#2. What are your favorite things to do in the past? What about now?
Yesterday this question was daunting to me. The reason for that is the fact that throughout the last year, I have been struggling about what it is that I actually enjoy other than working. I know that sounds horrible, but I have lost myself among all the work and tasks and to-do lists and forgotten what life is really all about. I forgot what I was working for. I forgot that all this work was ultimately for the purpose of having more time to spend living life. The cold hard truth was that when I carved more time out for myself, I filled it with busy work and not with things that I enjoy. That…. obviously…. is a problem. I am in the process of changing it.
To answer the first part of the question, in the past my favorite things to do were playing music in an ensemble, camping and being outdoors, kayaking, hiking, singing worship in church, going on adventures of all kinds, road trips, live music, wine on the beach at night, missionary work (which has been a rarity but fun when I did it), and hanging out with my friends.
To answer the second part of the question… I would most likely say the same things! The really sad thing is that I rarely do any of the above. This will change.
Jan 22: It was a crazy busy day at work. We got off at 3:00 and watched TV till we fell asleep.
Jan 23: The managers talked with us about the future of our jobs.
Jan 24: Dan fasted and we fought. He had decided to move to Maine and then prayed and found peace with staying here. We celebrated over dinner.
Jan 25: Lazy day @ home. Dan talked to the managers.
Jan 26: Morning @ the grocery store and picked up Flameing June at the frame shop
Jan 27: Celebrates Marks birthday at work but it wasnt actually his birthday. Zach and Jody on creative live.

so… given that the title of this blog is “busy” it would make sense that i do not take the time to write a blog post right now… but i dont always do what i should.
I cannot grasp at all what in the world is going on that has made my life so stinking busy! I am busy. I have so much going on and so much to do and so much that i dont HAVE to do but i WANT to do… that i just dont know WHAT to do with myself.
TO-DO list includes:
Go through ALL trip photos, delete, edit, make photo album (1 for us and 1 to show everyone who doesnt want to see ALL the photos)
Make and update and finish the NEW http://www.dbkayak.com which right now is lame, i must admit.
Email everyone who was involved in our kayak trip and thank them, update them, get their mailing addresses.
Write an article.
Come up with a presentation about the trip so that we can go speak.
Unpack our lives from boxes.
and one more thing….
WRITE A BOOK!!!
Im a bit overwhelmed and also pretty excited. Now only if i didnt have to work and make money. That would really make things easier eh?
I really really want to get things done so i can just have fun and see friends and… *whispering*… go on a vacation (i know… i totally dont deserve one since ive been on one for a year or more but whatev… i only live once).
So… i better get to work.
