I am such a girl. let me just tell you…
I love home. I love making a home. I love nesting. I talk about it with Dan all the time. Since we dont HAVE a house or an apartment or a roof over our heads, its practically all we talk about. ok. thats an exaggeration… but we do talk about it all the time. We pretty much know exactly what we want in a house/home/living space and what colors and what furniture style for when we finish this epic trip. Its so fun to dream and think about it. It serves for hours of entertainment.
Must haves:
front porch- essential! southern style with rocking chairs and even a swing. hammock perhaps? table for placing iced sweet tea on and a good view for watching
jacuzzi tub in master bath- one luxury that we will not skimp on. it will be our first renovation to the first house we buy. count on it.
garage or shed- mainly for holding all the water crafts and toys that im sure we will continue to accumulate. boats, boards, and all the things that go with them… which is a lot
chalkboard in kitchen- either with chalkboard paint or an actualy chalkboard… i have always loved these
only one tv- not in the bedroom, bathroom, kids/guest rooms, and hopefully not in the living room. maybe a tv room?
one day right?
Oh, nesting… It’s one of my favorite things. Wait until you decide to have children, if that’s in your Life Plan <3 You’ll be craving nesting, on top of craving wierd foods, I’m sure. lol! I think it’s good you guys talk about what you want because, then you’ll be able to narrow things down when you decide to make a home. Knowing what you want or don’t want helps a lot and you figure out what ideas you both have. Isn’t being an adult and being married the best thing ever??! I.think.so. Stay safe out there. I say a prayer for you everyday that you are safe. <3 you!
Oh man, I hear you. I think our 6 months in Bulgaria was a lot like your time in Maine/kayaking–so happy to be together and doing new things, but CRAVING a space of our own and some sense of normalcy.
We should definitely get together when y’all are in NYC. Oh, and I can tell you from experience–chalkboards in the kitchen are AMAZING.
i would love to sit on your porch with you and drink iced sweet tea. Miss you…
